New Menu at Fair Corner Deli
The Jewish Community’s Corner Deli is operating again this year at the County Fairgrounds Wednesday thru Sunday, August 9-13. This is your opportunity to support the Jewish community and introduce the local population and visitors to what is available throughout the year at the NCJCC.
The menu is changing this year. We are introducing two new items: Reuben and pita-falafel sandwiches. We will also be keeping cream cheese, lox, and bagels, along with the large beef hot dogs (no chili dogs or cheesecake). We are also making some space improvements in the kitchen area and upgrading some equipment.
There are 3 volunteer shifts each day with 5 volunteers per shift: 10 AM; 2:30 PM; and 7 PM. The Corner Deli operates 15 hours a day from 8 AM to 11 PM. We need both kitchen and counter workers, and volunteers will receive free entrance tickets into the fair for their assigned shifts.
Anyone who would like to book a specific shift please email or call Arline Mehr ASAP. Please indicate the day & time of your preferred shift by contacting her by email: email@example.com or telephone 530-802-0002.
Sunday January 22nd the GROOVY youth group braved the stormy weather and went bowling followed by pizza with youth group parent leader Dan Kalt and Rabbi David. We had a great turnout and it was a fun time rolling the bowling balls with the gutter guards up. Fortunately the youth could figure out how to navigate the electronic scoring system! After bowling, we enjoyed Frank’s Pizza on Main Street. We had to order a 3rd extra large pizza as the first two disappeared quickly. Apparently, bowling really works up an appetite. It was fun to socialize outside of typical Sunday School activities.
And who knew The Rabbi was on his high school bowling team! A ringer! Probably a professional mini-golfer as well! Guess we’ll see in February.
The next GROOVY outing will be February 26th, at the 49er Fun Park, weather permitting. Please mark your calendars for miniature golf and go karts.
